Karen's stance on Sensible Development
We should encourage development with abutting open space , like
at J.P.I. and at the Middlesex Hospital site.
We should to keep buffer strips where possible, like at the
Indian Ridge development.
At Indian Ridge, we should not tax the existing drainage system.
And we should encourage “blast with care.”
Serious parking concerns at South Side due to dense development –
we need incentives to not have a car.
I support open space buffers around all development, wherever
possible.
I support a Master Plan for development and transportation needs.
I support public-private partnerships like land trusts, where
Waltham or a non-profit organization accept land donations from private
developers and hold them in trust.
We need to move forward on the Metropolitan State Hospital
project.
